Soaring High Over Mt. High
After 2 weeks of waiting, I got to go to Mountain High yesterday, the day after Christmas. It was soooo much fun. They have the new airbag up now and that is where I spent a lot of the day. Since the liftlines were really long, and the Airbag line was just me. The only problem with the airbag is getting back up to the top of the run in to drop again. They don't have a tow rope or snowmobile or anything to take you back up, so you have to hike everytime. Which is still better than waiting 15 minutes to get 1 run. The lip to the airbag was really poppy and got super steep. I saw a couple people hit there heads on it. I thought it was awesome though. The rest of the park was awesome but the airbag was the highlight. escpecially the people working there. They were super nice and gave me tips on how to flip tricks easier and cleaner. My airbag season pass has literally already paid for itself already and I will be hitting this bag everyday!!! For the video I posted. It would be a lot of work to edit it down so just pay attention to the first part. Pretty much after I land in the bag, the rest is me getting off the bag and trying to get the GoPro off of my helmet.

Probably The Most Progressive Day Yet
I was back up at Mt. High this weekend. They have finally made a decision and gotten rid of the halfpipe. Now it is a really fun jump line. 2 medium small table tops. The park is exploding and I didn't necessarilly learn new tricks today, but I did some stuff I haven't done in a while. First of all, I finally landed some 50-50s on some banked boxes. For some reason, I never hit banked boxes because I always end up falling off. I figured out the problem... Speed. If I don't have enough time to fall off, then you won't. Also, those table tops on "pipeline" were way bigger than I normally go, but this guy asked if I could hit them and I instinctively said yes. So I had to hit them. I had forgotten how much fun it was to hit big jumps and I ended up hitting those for the majority of the rest of the day. I just had really good flow today and seemed like I couldn't fall until my second run on the 2 table tops. I took WAY too much speed into the 2nd one and landed at the bottom of the landing on my butt. Other than that it was a great day. My dad was sick today and had to work so he wasn't there to film, but I will definitely have a video next time I promise. By the way, thank you SOO much mom for taking me and sitting in the lodge while I rode. You are truly the best.

Hey there!
What up!!! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been really busy. So a couple of tricks I've learned since my last post... Backside Flip and Kickflip Rock 'n' Roll. Since this is the time of year when the sun goes down earlier, I haven't had much time to skate. But Snowboarding is always fun. Mt. High has some new jumps up that are really fun. Plus I learned a backside noseslide last time. Mt. High just got like 36 hours of snowmaking, so I'm excited to go up tomorrow. I will probably post a video or something next time. Peace out!

I'm Back!!
I Finally got the doctor to sign off that I can skate and snowboard again!!!! I'm so excited!! I went to Mt high yesterday and had a blast! It was really foggy but it was still fun. It was my first day of the season, so I spent the first half of the day, getting my mojo back. or "snowjo". hehe. But after the first half of the day, I had it back and started to learn new tricks. 1 trick that I accidentally landed was a blunt to fakie on a roller box. This came about because I was headed to the box and caught my toeside edge but tried to save my self and ended up completely on my tail with my back binding on the edge of the box, I was like "whoa!" so I turned my head and came out switch. So that was pretty cool. Another accidental trick that was pretty cool was a 360 on a wallride. I stink at staying flat based on boxes so this was pretty cool, to stay flat based on the wallride. The day was great, but it didn't start out great. It started out by me overshooting a jump on upper chisolm and landing in the flat, on my butt. So you can see that the day turned out way better than I expected. Overall, It was an amazing day and I can't wait to get back up there soon. It was about 4 or 5 months of waiting paid off!

My Injury
Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. I just didn't go to that many skateparks lately. And as much as I know you want to hear about me skating on the street in front of my house, I think writing about skateparks is more fun. Now back in the day, Rodney Mullen and the others did some pretty cool flatground stuff, so I wanted to replicate something like that. I'm always trying to learn a new fliptrick, or mini-ramp trick or rails or whatever. So to be different, I decided I would try to handstand while riding. I landed several times without falling and thought I had it down. Then my neighbor walked by and I thought I would show off. So I hopped up and stalled out the handstand but pushed too hard to get upside down and ended up falling over, doing a full frontflip. Then my hand started hurting. I was like Oww. So I was done for the day. I went in iced my hand and slept it off. But it still hurt the next day so I went in to the doctor and..........Buckle Fracture. So I'm not allowed to skate for 3 weeks. Doctors/Parents orders. It stinks. I can't find any way to occupy my time. I don't get what people do all the time. I have a whole bunch of energy and can't do anything with it. However, I am thankful that I didn't have to get a full cast, instead I just have a splint that I can take on and off. And I'm glad that I didn't hurt myself more. That being said, I hope I never hurt myself like this again, because this is the worst.

Back to Clairemont
I went to Clairemont yesterday, and skated my 2 favorite parts of the park, The Vert Ramp (Now that I can drop in on the loveseat) and the miniramp (just cause it's fun.) I went with my dad and my friend Nathan. My dad didn't skate but he filmed and we had fun. When we were on the mini ramp, Nathan aired over the deck of the miniramp on the the bank next to it. It was pretty crazy. As for me, I'm just happy that I can finally put a run together on a mini ramp, like, a BS 5-0 to transfer over the spine, Rock to Fakie, Fakie to Fakie Transfer over the spine, fakie to BS Smith stall and so on. Now I really like mini ramps. Then we headed over to the Vert Ramp and I got some runs going on that too. I dropped in and then kick turn to Melon pre-grab backside air, rock to fakie, gay twist, rock to fakie, fakie backside shuv-it. It was awesome. Then Nathan learned how to Melon pre-grab backside air which he couldn't do before. Since he learned something new, I had to learn something new so I learned and Indy pre-grab frontside air. I still don't have them down but I can atleast do them now. It was a very productive session. next time I will drop in on the normal sized vert ramp.

Happy Birthday to Me
Man, this last weekend was amazing. It started on Saturday when I went to Encinitas and just kinda messed around there. I don't really do backside disasters but I learned them on Saturday and it was fun. That was pretty much what I did on Saturday and just had fun. Then Sunday was my birthday, so my dad took me to Poway in the morning, I got some sweet airs out of a quarterpipe and it was amazing. We spent a couple hours there and then went to Clairemont. Clairemont was the most fun I had all day. I'm sure you remember me telling you all about when I tried to drop in on the 11 foot loveseat on the vert ramp in Clairemont and fell into the flat bottom. Pretty much 1 year later on my birthday and I did it. I dropped in on the loveseat and I felt soooooo good. After that I had to be sure it wasn't just an accident so I went up and did it again. Some people say that once you do it the 1st time the rest is easier. I don't think this is true. It was just as hard the next couple of times. Anyways, I redid that for the rest of the session and then we went to Encinitas again. I was hoping to drop in on the vert ramp at Encinitas but I didn't. It was too big. The cool part is that the vert ramps is starting to look and feel smaller and I'm getting higher up on the walls and I don't feel like it. I think I'm going to be riding vert alot more in the next couple of months. It was a great birthday!!

My Weekend at Woodward West!
My English teacher says I should use my alliterations, so I made my title one. Anywho, As my 14th birthday present, My parents paid for a weekend at Woodward West, so my dad took me this weekend. I've been to several skateparks in the last couple weeks but since I just went to Woodward, I felt it was worth blogging 1st. We got there on saturday at 1:00 pm and they open at 2:00 pm so the 1 hour wait was killing me. Finally we went to Hangar 18, and met up with Katie, our extremely peppy, Woodward weekend guide. I rode around and checked the park out, then headed to the foam pit. I pretty much stayed there most of the day. i did some 360's and heelflip indys, and airwalks. It was fun. Occasionally I would venture to the big street are or the small street, art park, or mini-ramp. Plus a couple times I went to the vert ramp and stood on top of the resi psyching myself out. I learned a really basic trick a backside 50-50 stall which I never had done before on a mini-ramp. I also manualled across the big manny pad in the small street area. I finished the first day on top of the vert ramp and saying I would do it the next day. That will be my next post. It was a really fun first day, with double backflipping bikers, and zack sheckler, and lots of hard work getting out of the foam. The next day was awesome too.

Poway x 2!
I went to the Poway skatepark twice in the last 2 weeks. It was really fun. I hadn't really been there for awhile. So going back was a good change. That park is pretty much where I learned to skate "park". The first time in the last couple weeks I went it was with my friends Casey and Nathan. Nathan recently went to woodward and talked about all the grabs he could to out of a quarterpipe. I'll be honest I didn't believe him. But at poway he proved me wrong. We went to a 14 and under supervised session on Friday nights. Nathan was going huge oput of the quarter. Roast Beef, Melon, Indy, Tail, Method, you name it he was doing it. I had some fun too. Doing 360 Burnt Slides on the bank. It was a good time. Then we went back on Sunday just me and Nathan and he taught me how to air out. (Which doesn't come easy for me) I know we'll be back.

Vans Skatepark
Now I have another good story from the vans skatepark. I went there again and it was fun. This time I spent pretty much the whole time in the mini-ramps, street area and combi-bowl. I learned a new trick on the mini-ramp a fakie-to-fakie-50-50. That took me a while to learn but it was fun. The combi bowl was the fastest bowl I've ever ridden. Also, it was a little slippery, but not too bad. This time I tried the street section again, but it wasn't fun. I think to enjoy that area you have to be better than I am. Next was the bigger mini-ramp and I had fun just doing some small airs and gaytwists (fakie backside 360). Overall it was another fun visit and I plan to go back there a lot more.
Burton Store
On August 13th I went to the Burton LA Store for the release of there 2012 product line. It was a day I had been waiting for for a long time. it finally came and i was so excited. My dad drove me up and when they opened up I immediately bought the board that I knew I was gonna get (TWC Smalls 132), because the 1st 13 people to buy gear got gift bags. I bought the board to get the gift bag. My gift bag had, Snowboarder Mag, Anon Goggles, a limited edition T-shirt, and a little notepad. That was worth it. Then my dad and I spent about 30 minutes asking Diana (our helper) to get different sized boots. I ended up getting some Cartel bindings and my dad completed his gear for this year with some TWC boots. There was free food and catalogs and it was fun. After that we decided to go to the vans skatepark. But that story is for another time.

Long Time No Skate
Well I finally decided to forgive the Clairemont skatepark and go back. For those of you who don't know, About a year ago, I tried to drop in on the love seat, which is a quarterpipe on the X Games vert ramp they have, that is about a foot below the full size vert ramp. I dropped in and faceplanted on the flat bottom. That was not fun. I haven't been to clairemont since, but last Friday I had an itch to try it again. So my dad and I went to the park, and man has is changed. I knew that the street course had changed and that was fun. They have a manual pad, hubbas, flat ledges, down rails, flat rails, a 6 stair and various kickers, quarterpipes and banks. That was a lot of fun skating. Then there was the mini ramp. That is what I now believe to be the second best park of the skatepark. It is about 4 ft. It is a halfipipe with a spine in the middle on one side, 2 small rollers in the middle of the middle and 1 big roller on the other side. I thought that was awesome and way better than it used to be. Then I headed over to the wooden bowls. Normally I love them, but these were kind of a disappointment. They were all bump and old. There were big wholes blocked off in them and it just wasn't that fun. I really hope they fix it. And finally the thing I came to do... The vert ramp. I started pump just to kind of warm up on it and the first run I did I slipped out. So I've gotten used to the vert ramp at encinitas and this ramp is way more slippery and the transition is different so I wasn't comfortable on the ramp and didn't try it. Next time. I think if they redid the bowls and vert ramp the park would really be perfect.
Oh and one more thing. On the mini-ramp with the encouragement and support of all the nice guys there, I landed a footplant over the spine. That was a lot of work paid off!!

Encinitas Skatepark
I went to Encinitas twice in the last 2 days. I think all I needed was a little time off the ramp to really push myself once I got back on. All I wanted to do was pump higher than I'd pumped before. Since the last time I tried to drop in on a vert ramp was extremely unsuccessful. I don't want to drop in on something that high yet. So pumping to the coping is my goal. Yesterday, I got on the ramp and pumped up to the vert but that's as far as I got. Same thing today! I just need a couple more hours on the ramp to get up to the coping. I hope to do that over the next couple of weeks. Then today, I went during the middle of the day. Thanks to my sister for taking me. Anyways, There was some guy on the ramp going X Games height. I saw a lot of kids recently who were like 12 &13 years old dropping in on the vert ramp. I don't know how they do it.
That'll be me in a couple months. It's been fun. By the way, I have too much to say about the X Games, so I'm just going to say that I saw it all and it was amazing!!!!!!! That's all!!

Carls-not-so-bad Skatepark
I love title puns. Anyways, I think I got there at just the right time. It was about 8:00 pm and I got there right before a big rush came. I don't know what it is normally like but it wasn't very crowded that night. I wish they had either made it a 2 part park. Because the park was slanted. I was in a smaller bowl with coping and accidentally flung my board out. Normally I would walk over and pick it up where it landed. But since the park is on uneven ground. My board rolled all the way to the street section on the other side of the park. It had a cool C-box. And some stairs and bowls. A pretty standard park. There was a 5-stair that had about 5 feet of space to get speed for it. So the park isn't designed very well but if you're good and it's not very crowded it can be fun!!!

Oceanside
I went with a friend and my dad to the oceanside skatepark yesterday. It was a real relief to skate again, because I hadn't skated for at least 3 hours. While we were there, I pretty much sessioned the quarterpipe next to the the extension. That was so much fun. I got some good airs off of it. I also got some good grabs off of it too. People were taking up the bowl section for the most part, but it was still awesome. Thanks to my dad for filming me. I was stupid and I asked him to point the camera higher becuase I thought it was cutting off my head. After looking at the videos, I saw that after I asked him to point it up, it only filmed my chest up. So you can't see how high I aired or if I landed it. He was right. The park was fun though.

New tricks
Man have I worked a lot this weekend. I was outside on a skateboard for atleast 6 hours in the last 2 days. normally that's not that much but this was all outside in front of my house on the street, trying to land a kickflip. I tried 1000 times. (that might be exxageration). Anyways, I finally landed it but it was a sketchy landing. Then today I was so excited to go out again and try it. I stomped it so hard. After I landed that I figured it was time to move onto a new trick. I was messing around with my pop-shuvit and backside 180s, so I went for a "Fakie Nollie Big Spin". After 3 tries I almost landed it, I'm sure after some work today I'll stomp it no problem. By the way, Congrats to my friend, Nathan, who got first the most recent contest he entered.

Encinitas Skatepark... Again
I go to the Encinitas skatepark so much that I am running out of things to say about it. But the last time I went was interesting. I think there was a pro there. Not sure who it was but he was totally ripping up the kidney bowl. Also it was interesting because there was always 1 section at a time that was empty. When we got there the vert ramp was empty then we headed over to mini land and after we left that became empty. I guess all the skaters moved together. As usual there were some awesome groms there. One of them did the pole jam up the Euro. Another followed my line and aired way higher than I did, and I air pretty high. So that park was fun too. Wow I managed to write more new stuff. Overall, Good trip.
Vans Skatepark
I've had the busiest 2 weeks so I haven't had time to post so here it goes. I went to the Vans skatepark the day after I got back from Hawaii aka the day I posted last. That park was really fun. I got to skate for a couple hours. Thanks to my dad who sat outside the park with my dog. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to skate. It was my first time to that park and I thought it was great. I liked the mini-ramp behing that bank. That was fun too. The park wasn't really that crowded so it was fun to move around the features that you could move, like the big kicker and some of the smaller rails. Also the flat-down-flat-down-flat-to-bank was cool to air off of the extension on the bank. Overall the park was perfection.

Busy Week
Hello All,
Sorry for not posting for awhile. I was in Hawaii. It was lots of fun but I won't bore you with the details. Basically, Now I know why there are no professional skaters that come out of Hawaii. There are only a handful of parks on the island Oahu and none of them were anything sort of comparable to what we have here in SoCal. I made sure to pack my board just in case when we left. I'm glad I did. I hit 3 skateparks. I can't quite remember the names of them. There was the 1 skatepark that stood above the others and so did the riders. As we were touring I spotted a skatepark on the side of the rode. Mostly bowls, a spine, and a couple ledges. But it was super fun. As we walked into the park I saw a guy come flying out if the bowl, grab his board and make the shape of a cross with his body. That's right, he did a Christ Air atleast 4 foot out of the bowl. But the one thing that this park had in common with the other skateparks on the island was no transitions.
Now I don't know why it didn't have good transitions, but it was like a wallride on every banks, quarterpipe, and halpipe. And this was at all of the park. Another park I went to was on the coast and it took alittle bit of time to find and to be honest, It wasn't really worth it. They just thought that they could take a black-top basketball court and glue a few ramps and ledges to it. There was 1 feature worthy of praise and that was a wallride to ledge that was really fun. I banged my leg up pretty good trying a front 180 of and kicking my front leg too much. But other than that, it was a decent park.
The last park was how do I put this.... Impossible to get into. That's right. I saw it and got all excited that I would get to skate it. It had a spine, some banks, and a mini-pipe. But when we got up to it there was a huge fence and no way in so we had to leave. Obviously I was dissappointed but atleast I got to skate a little.
As for the surfing, There were NO WAVES AT ALL!!!!! We circled the island and even on north shore. No waves. And if there was anything there were swells that would push you into rocks when you're snorkeling. But I would have surfed if I could but alas, I could not.
Fun Trip and a long blog post. We got back home at 3 in the morning last night and my dad being the best dad ever took me to the Vans Skatepark in the City of Orange. More about that trip in the next post.

The Customary Trip
The made the usual trip today with my dad. Encinitas skatepark, beach, then oceanside smaller skatepark. It was really tiring but totally fun. Since it is Father's Day, I got my dad a new board that is flat and more his style (Bowl and more vert based riding). He tried out his board there and really liked it. I used my normal board, but 1 of the wheels broke so I started using my other board. They was a contest going on today, that made it so that we couldn't use the street course towards the end but it was still fun. I spent most of the time on the mini-ramp anyways. Then we went to the beach. The sand was so burning hot that my dad and I still have trouble walking without having the bottom of our feet hurt. We spent some time in the ocean which was cool.
Also, High Cascade session 1 has been going for a couple days now. They are officially open for the summer. I wish I could have gone this summer and I almost won a contest for a free session but I'm hoping to go next year for sure. One cool thing they have up there this year is the Bagjump. It looks like so much fun. Kinda like what Mt. high has but on a bigger scale. They had one last year but this one is better. Also, They have the skate tour where you go to different skateparks around Mt. Hood. I hope to go next year.
Til next time, don't forget to vote for me at www.sassglobaltravel.com/5025 and vote a 10 start on it. Thanks,
see ya!!!

Shaun White's Home Park
This last weekend I went to the Encinitas skatepark. It was fun. Shaun White wasn't actually there, but I know that he goes there a lot. Now, I haven't dropped in for a while. I don't know why, probably because I faceplanted trying to drop in on an X Games vert ramp. But this last time, I decided to try it again. I started off on the mini-ramp just to remind myself what it was like. And it was still fun. So I spent the rest of the time at the park, trying to learn tricks on the coping. I got a couple 5-0s in. Which I had never done. I plan on going back very soon!!!

Frendly Gathering
The Frendly Gathethering was over this weekend. I wish I could have been there. It was up at Mammoth and they looked like they had a lot of fun. There was an old school halfpipe competition, a giant slalom, and plus the camping. The lake Crowley campground is where the actual camping and partying went down. Bands performed and it looked like a blast. In other news, it looks like there might be a Rancho Bernardo skatepark put in soon. I was at RB Alive and there was a whole booth dedicated to "operation skatepark". I would be totally happy if that happened. It was a very cool weekend.

Poway Woot Woot
Yesterday I went to the Poway Skatepark. It was lots of fun and not very crowded either. You would think that 12 to 2 on a Saturday would be pretty crowded but apparently not! There were some pretty good local kids there. I'm talking 10, 11 years old. Anyways, It was definitely hot out there. The snake run was fun as always and the bank on the other side of the park was even more fun. I was trying Footplants and Bonelesses off it the whole time. (I landed them both I might add.) Just a side note, since they put in that fingerprint scanner and those cameras, there has been fewer thugs coming in unless they hop the fence. Anyways, I thought it was a fun session!

Am I the Only One Who Likes Groomed Snow Better Than Powder?
Over the weekend, my awesome dad and I decided to take a weekend long trip to Mammoth. We packed up got in the car and hit the road at 6 am. By 11:45 we got there. It was a beautiful day up in Mammoth. We checked into a hotel room and headed staright for the mountain to get some runs in. The setup was super sick. They had a jumpline on Forest Trail that was amazing. Also, The superpipe was great. 22 feet high of pure awesomeness. I loved that and rode it all day!!! Eventually the mountain closed for the day at 3 but it was still an awesome day!! Then since we still had time left in the day, we went to Gomez's in the Village which was cool! And after that we headed to the Mammoth skatepark about 5 minutes from our hotel. It was a very natural feel to the park which was surrounded by trees and snow covered mountains. It was awesome! Then that night it snowed! the forecast said 2-4 inches, but fortunately or unfortunalety, it snowed atleast 7 inches before 9 am. We walked 2 blocks in the freezing cold snow and caught a shuttle to the mountain. 5 swurvy snowy minutes later we were at the mountain and headed straight for the Gondola. The winds were unbelievable and the Gondola shielded us from the winds. Unfortunately, with that kind of weather, the groomed fast snow thats great for jumping, jibbing, and Superpipe riding (The snow I love), all freezes and then your left with ice or super deep powder great for slashing and spraying (The snow my dad loves). Since I'm not the biggest guy out there, I couldn't maintain any speed even going straight down. I didn't give up on freestyle riding, however, it wasn't as fun as the first day. Overall, It was a very good trip even though we drove for 12 hours over all and only Snowboarded for 6 hours. Totally worth it.

My Visit to the OC!
Now I could start off this post by talking about what I normally talk about but I won't. There that was a good hook. Anyway, I went to the Mission Viejo Skatepark on Saturday. It was small, no doubt. But it was still fun. The banks were steep and it had 1 bowl. Even the snake run didn't have coping on it, yet it was still easy to have fun on it. It definitely gets some time to get used to the steeper banks, and rigider edges. You could run a line for a long time though, the flow was amazing. Also, on a totally unrelated subject, I think you all should vote fot Mt. High for TransWorlds Best Park Contest. http://snowboarding.transworld.net/1000152535/featuresobf/vote-now-in-the-2012-resort-poll/
I've put the link to it above. If you haven't been there, you can take my word for it. I gave it an overall of a 9. Have Fun!!

Hmm Fantasy Day?
Yesterday I got to go to the Encinitas skatepark and the Oceanside smaller park. It was amazing! Very hot day though. We started off at the Encinitas park with maybe 30 people there overall and we pretty much had the vert ramp to ourselves for most of the time. Also I landed an Indy grab off of a quarterpipe onto a higher ledge. A progessive day indeed! After that we headed to Oceanside and had the park to ourselves. lots of transitions and you can pretty much keep a line going until you're too tired to keep going. It is super flowy. I hope you all are having a fun spring and skating a lot. :)

Contest at Mt. High
Even though the contest season is pretty much over for snowboarding, Mt. High is still having the KTG Funky Junk Rail Jam up there today! It's a chance to be innovative and creative. Plus, tomorrow everyone rides FREE! Also, they will have an easter egg hunt tomorrow which looks like fun! Despite the snow season being almost over, there are still plenty of ways to satisfy your need for boarding. Skateboarding is one great way! I always get pretty good over the summer because I have so much time. Or there's PowderPak or other artificial snow companies that allow you to snowboard year round. Then there's places like, High Cascade Snowboard Camp, Windells, I believe Mammoth will have a summer boarding camp this year, and of course it's always winter somewhere, so while we're in summer, New Zealand is having it's winter I think. Bottom Line, Don't be too dissapointed that the season is coming to a close cause there are still lots of other ways to have fun on a board!

End of Season!! :(
I took a final trip up to Mt. High today! Lots of fun. The snow was definately spring snow, so towards the end of the day it was pretty slushy. Very good day though! Eventually puddles began to form and you could ride through them, like pond skimming. All of the employees had a "Spring" in their step today! What's great about SoCal is that I was snowboarding in a T-shirts today. You can't do that many other places. Only 1 more week left so if you can, I suggest making it up 1 last time before the season ends and then wait in excitement for next year!

New Trick
I have a 1080 kicker ramp and a 2 foot tall rail. The other day I landed a Frontside 270 to Frontside Boardslide. It was a hard trick to get but very fun! This week Mt. High has a 15 foot tall quarterpipe up on the Chisolm saddle. It was lots of fun hitting it. The only problem is that when I was there it was very icy and you could get an edge in so it was hard to get more than a couple of feet of air. Still a fun feature though. I think they should groom there halfpipe next year, and make it a little bit bigger. If you agree with me you should write on there facebook page asking them too!

Mt. High!
Oh My Skatepark!!
I was in Santa Barbara over this weekend, and as we were leaving we happened to drive by the skatepark. It was amazing. They had vert, tranny, and street. It was concrete and a very creative setup. On the right side from where I was, there was a hip with a parking-car-stopper. It looked really fun. They had some really steep banks and nice roll-ins. Also while I was there I stumbled into the Mountain Air Shop, which is on State Street, as close to the pier as you could go. Everyone inside was nice and hospitable. Not to mention the prices were really good. I would recommend a trip to Santa Barbara even if it were just a day of skating at the skatepark and shopping and chatting with the nice people in Mountain Air.

Oceanside... 1 for 2!
I went to the Oceanside skatepark today. Not the street park but the smaller more transition based park. It was crowded but a good park. Everyone was really nice and the side opposite the vert was fun. I didn't get a chance to ride the bowls since there were too many bikes there and they kept getting in our way. I liked hitting the banks. It was lots of fun and you should head out there. Also, Mt. High has been getting snowed on most of the day, so the conditions should be great for this weekend!

USAirbag
Recently I was at Mt. High and got a awesome chance to hit the USAirbag. This airbag is like what stuntmen jump off of buildings into. Mt. High had built a big jump up to it and it was lots of fun throwing, Rodeos, Backflips, Frontflips, Double Corks, 540s, 720s, and 900s. I highly recommend trying it out if they come and do a demo in your area. They have some videos on their website www.usairbag.com and you should check it out.
